How our story
Born from the desire of simply wanting a hobby, Kirsty started making candles in her kitchen in 2016. Completely self taught through trial & error, it took around a year to perfect her craft.

She dabbled in attending local markets & created a website to sell from online. The collection has slowly grown from soy wax candles to include wax melts, reed diffusers & air mists... all designed to scent your space with beautiful fragrance, coupled with a minimal ethos.

Over the years, Kirsty realised that her products were providing more than just scent. They were enhancing moments in people's lives. Weddings, birthdays, new houses. Rowbert was around in a small way, elevating those moments... and allowing people to relive them by experiencing the scent again.
Each and every one of our products is handcrafted by Kirsty, from her studio (aka converted garage) in Harrogate. Although, more often than not, she gets an extra pair of hands in the form of her sister who loves to help! From beginning to end, you're getting a proper artisan product, with quality and attention at every stage. Not churned out in huge batches, going along a conveyor belt poured by huge machines. Where's the personal touch in that?

Minimalism is at the heart of everything we do. From ingredients to design to packaging... we think less is more. We only include ingredients that are necessary. We don't add any dyes or nasty extras to our candles, just the fragrance for a clean burn. All of our containers are glass and are perfect for reusing. Our candle jars can be turned into planters, our diffuser bottles into pen pots. We love the idea that our packaging can have a life after our product has been enjoyed. Or if it's not needed, all of our packaging is fully recyclable!
